My name is Mary Beth Bolen, but everyone calls me MB and I'm from Ashland, Kentucky. I am a center back, graduating in 2025. I have played soccer for eight years and have always aspired to play at the collegiate level. I am hard working and determined. This year as a Freshman, I started Varsity as both a Center Back and Defensive Mid-player, received the team award for Best Defender, and was named to Second Team All Region and Honorable Mention all Area. I am also a starting Center Back on my club team, Eastern Elite '07 Girls, which plays in the Kentucky Premier League which is the highest competitive league in the State. I am also a member of the '07 Girls KY ODP Team for three years. This past year, I decided to give something back to the sport and became a certified referee, due to a referee shortage in my area there were not enough for younger teams to play and I wanted them to have the same opportunities as I have had.
My goal is to push myself and become the best player I can possibly be. I continuously aim to improve myself as an athlete, student, and overall person. I am not a stranger to adversity and being able to give my all to reach a goal. I was diagnosed in 5th Grade with severe dyslexia, but have maintained a 4.0 during my high school career while taking accelerated/honor classes. My goal is to find a college home that fits with me academically where I can also excel athletically playing the game that I love.
