Personal Statement
My name is Kendall Graves, I am a sophomore and I attend Highlands High School in Fort Thomas, Kentucky. I have played soccer from a very young age and have always wanted to play at the collegiate level. When I was younger, I got diagnosed with a vein condition. I was in severe pain constantly. For many years, doctors did not how to help me and still do not know what is wrong. I didn’t know if I was going to be able to continue playing sports. However, I overcame the obstacles and this experience has taught me to push through, work hard, and not make excuses for myself.
I play for Mercury Soccer Club on the top team for my age group, Mercury G06 Red. I have played for my high school for three years. I started Freshman and JV as an eighth-grader and as a freshman and sophomore started Varsity. As a sophomore, I am the captain of our defense for my high school. I maintain high grades with A’s in every class. Additionally, I have a 4.42 weighted GPA. I aspire to obtain a nursing degree while playing high-level soccer at college. I love receiving constructive criticism to improve and work hard to help my teammates improve their games. I am committed to soccer wholeheartedly, setting goals to get better while keeping a positive mindset. I want to be a valuable part of a team and be the player that is a leader who keeps my teammates focused and motivated to help each other. I am very excited to enter this next step in my soccer career and be a significant piece of your team.
