- 2022 Highlights
Personal Statement
Hi, I'm Annalynn Fourqurean and I am a Junior (2022-2023) at University Heights Academy, Hopkinsville, Kentucky. I have been a starter since the 7th grade playing defense and more recently moving in the midfield. I love learning to play multiply positions to help strengthen my game and perspective of my team and teammates to win the game. I recently joined Indiana Fire Juniors South ECRL in 2022 in hopes to increase my training environment and exposure to college coaches. Playing college soccer is my dream!
Seven years ago, when I was in the 4th grade choosing what sport I wanted to play. I chose soccer, the prospect of continuing my soccer career collegiately was not at the forefront of my priorities. In a small High School in rural Western Kentucky, my love for soccer continues to grow. I know how competitive being a college athlete can be so I started my journey. I started YMCA, club, middle school, JV and then kept pushing to get better every day so I could play with the Kentucky ODP program. Tryout out and getting on the team the first time I tried was a great experience for me. I play with talented girls all over the state. I think the best part of being an athlete is finding your passion, working hard toward your goals, fail to meet them, adjust/reset, try again and then boom success. I have a natural instinct to be aggressive and dominate. These are key principles that help me play more confident, more dominate, and more consistent week in and week out. Some players are born with it, while others learn it. I was born with it. As a result, my strength to go 1v1 with my opponent is something that I thrive on. My second family is my team and coaches. I'm a team player and I know when to challenge my opponent, move the ball forward and unselfishly pass to my teammates.
I know what I needed to do. Over the past 7 years I've constantly worked to improve my skills, the game, and time management since my club and ODP teams are not local. My stamina, drive and passion are what it takes to be a soccer player now and in my future. I am beginning to seek out a college where I can combine my love for soccer with my academic goals, where I can be a college standout on and off the field. Look forward to meeting you.
