Personal Statement

I started playing soccer when I was four and it has always been a key part of my life. As a center back, I understand how to influence the game in not only defending but also as being a crucial part of starting the attack. I am different from other recruits because I have a great work ethic and determination; in the game of soccer those two things are crucial to success. In addition to my focus on soccer, I work hard to maintain excellent grades throughout the school year. My 8th grade year, I maintained a 4.0. My freshmen year I took two honors classes and a sophomore level class, and I maintained a 4.0 as well. Sophomore year, I took two honors classes and an AP class. I  kept a 4.0 all year as well. Junior year, I am taking three honors classes and a senior level class. Senior year, I am taking two honors and Spanish DE. In 8th grade, I was the recipient of the Theology Award, and in 10th grade, I was the recipient of the Biology Award. In 8th and 9th grade, I was a starter on Jv, and as a freshman I made Varsity. Sophomore year I started on Varsity, and I played a new position, forward. I scored a total of 9 goals during the season including two in two playoff games. Additionally, I earned all district honorable mention. 11th grade, we went to the State Championship and were unsuccessful. I did, however, earn all district first team and overall district mvp. Additionally, I earned all parish, all metro, and all state first team. Also, I was able to set the school and personal record of 5 goals scored as a defender which I am going to attempt to break this upcoming year. I am captain my senior year, and I am ready to help lead the team back to the State Championship. My goal is to play college soccer at a high level with good competition while also receiving a good education. Thank you for taking the time to read my profile.
