Edie Stickell '25 Recruiting Profile

Watching my older sister play soccer from a young age inspired me to do the same, but I never knew that this sport would have such an impact in my life. Playing soccer has helped me to discover my greatest qualities such as leadership, passion, work ethic, and my drive to be the best that I can be.

In a small city like Lake Charles, LA, I was always fortunate enough to make every team that I tried out for. This gave me the confidence to try out for my state's 2021 ODP team. Not making the team was such a humbling experience. I realized that if I wanted to compete on a state level, I was going to have to work even harder to achieve this goal. Although I was upset, I used this defeat as motivation to continue to train hard, and then the following year I made the 2022 ODP Region Pool. I was selected for the Region Pool again in 2023 and now play with Louisiana's GA team, TDP Elite 05/06G. I will always keep challenging myself to get better, and I believe that my failures have played an important role in helping me to achieve my goals.

Over the past ten years, I have truly fallen in love with the game. Soccer has always been a constant in my life, so I can't imagine going through a chapter of my life without it. This, for me, is the biggest reason why I want to play college soccer.
