Personal Statement
Hi coaches! My name is Zoe Castrucci, and I have a high interest in playing soccer in college. I have played soccer throughout my childhood, starting from age 4 and never looking back. Soccer is a huge part of my life, and I honestly couldn't imagine not playing the sport. I started out in my local rec league but soon progressed to a travel team in my area. At age 9, I was asked to play for a club team by the current high school coach for my town who also coached for club. I have always played on an older club team, and was able to earn a starting role for my team this year, which won the Maine State Premier League tournament for the second year in a row, at center attacking midfielder. My team will be moving to a New England League this coming spring. I am a very smart and tactical player, and don't like to force the play. I am known for my ability to see the entire field and make a split second decision of where I am going to play the ball. Throughout the past spring season, I was able to earn an assist in almost every game we played. I was named the only freshman on full varsity this year. I have started nearly every game and play on average 75 to 77 minutes of an 80 minute game. While I play primarily at attacking center mid, I can also play defensive mid and striker. I am a leader on both the field and the classroom, always trying to help those around me be the best players and students that they can be. I love soccer and will work as hard as I need to in order to play in college.
