Personal Statement
As a little girl watching my older brother on the soccer field, I thought “I can do this”. So at 6 years old, I did. As most kids do, I started out in rec soccer and then moved on to a rec travel team. After leading my rec travel team to 2 league championships, I knew in order to be a better soccer player I had to challenge myself. And the next year I tried out for the Catonsville Soccer Club’s Cobras travel team and made the “A” team. In my 2 years with the Cobras, I was the leading scorer each year and in my second year I helped lead the team to a league championship and first ever tournament title winning the LTSC Challenge Cup in 2016.
In 2017, I went on the trip of a lifetime to China. I got to experience an amazing culture from Beijing to Hong Kong. This trip made me realize how strong, independent and resilient I could be and prepared me for my transition to high school and high school soccer. I was one of only 3 freshman to make the Catonsville Girls Varsity Soccer team this year. I played in every game and started in approximately 30% of all the games. I scored 3 goals and had several assists. I’m looking forward to the next season to continue to learn and grow as a player. I will continue to push myself to excel and be the best and toward my next goal and challenge of college soccer.
