Abby Makela '24 Recruiting Profile

Hello, I've been playing soccer since I was 3 but it wasn't until I was 6 that I realized how much I love it when we moved to Germany.  Living in Europe for over four years solidified my passion for the game. I played on four different teams to include two German leagues where I earned "League MVP" in one of them.  I think these experiences, along with being a military brat, has allowed me to see that soccer isn't just a sport but a life learning experience where one must navigate problems while working with others to achieve a goal.  I will bring this experience and way of thinking to any team I am associated with hopefully ending in a tightly knitted team that produces results while having fun and learning from each other.   I'm looking to not only further my soccer career by playing in college, but also my experiences and knowledge through a great academic program.
