Personal Statement
When I was eight years old I decided I wanted to play soccer in the World Cup. Then at fourteen, one year after I was invited to play a tournament in Italy, I was diagnosed with chronic disease. I had a chronic mycoplasma deficiency, chronic sinusitis, chronic rhinitis, allergies, and allergy-induced asthma, all of which make breathing and athletics very difficult. Recently, I have started to see the end to these illnesses. My junior year I have joined a club team, two summer leagues, a fitness training camp, and I got a gym membership. I have never been able to do much strenuous activity to my body because of my illnesses, so this was the first year I made varsity, and on paper, not too much will seem great about me. But I can start working hard now, and I absolutely plan to. I am 5'7" and 114 pounds, and I play forward and left or right midfield. I have studied the game for thousands of hours, and the first day I played was also the first day I learned to walk. Coaches and parents say that I understand the game better than anyone, but sometimes I just cannot follow through, because of my health. Now that I can work I absolutely promise that I will, because it has always been my goal to play soccer in and hopefully after college. I would love to hear from any coaches or recruiters, and I am more than happy to look into any colleges or send video or anything else that is needed.
