Hi, My name is Mia rivera, a class of 2024 goalkeeper. I have been playing soccer since I was about 8 years old, since then my love for keeping as grown tremendously! Since playing on many teams, one thing that stuck about my love for soccer was the rush of stoping the goals to see my teammates happy. Throughout the past two years, I have started on varsity at my high school; and have been playing club soccer year around. I am currently playing for Legacy Soccer Club, in the New England Premiership League. Although soccer is my main focus point I am currently a three sport athlete. I am a captain on the girls junior varsity basketball team, and in the spring I am further contributing to helping my schools across program start their inaugural season.
I believe I am a hardworking athlete who strives to persevere any challenges thrown at me. I am someone who keeps an open mind and is always willing to try new strategies and techniques. A strength of mine is my quick distribution from a save, and my consistent communication with my defenders; I also have weakness I will push to improve as well. In my mind being a team player is very important to accomplish a successful season.
Academics are very important to me. I put my grades first and always push myself to do my best, along with athletically. Currently I take one AP class, and two honors classes. Keeping up my 3.8-4.0 GPA. As of right now I am not sure on one major, but I do have a few in mind. I am leaning towards Criminal Justice, Education, and Nursing. With my education and athletics I hope to experience an ever learning collegiate experience. Helping to further improve my skills socially and athletically.
