Tamia Silvera '24 Recruiting Profile

Hey! I'm Tamia Silvera and soccer's been my thing since 6 years old. From early years playing striker and center back, I finally found the right fit as Goalkeeper by 10-years-old. Nothing beats having an eagle-eye view of the whole field plus helping coach all my teammates in navigating out of any tight spots they get into. For three straight years now, Dana Hall has put me as their starting goalkeeper while naming me Captain for 2023 season and awarded 'Grinder Of The Year 2021’. In addition to High School soccer, you can also find me playing club with New England Surf Sky this season too!

Soccer is my passion, but I'm no stranger to success off the field. Ever since 11 years old in Brockton MA – aka 'The City of Champions'-  I've been competing and winning across a range of challenges: placing top 30 out 5000 teams world-wide with MakeWonders STEM Robotics Comp; taking 1st place state level at MIT/NASA ZeroRobotics; coming up tops for Best Lean Canvas The Young Entrepreneur program during my sophomore year. At Dana Hall there's always plenty going on too... from student-athlete duties to the Blue Key Club which I provide tours for prospective students, Baking Club (my fave!), Crew Club school spirit activities, Stock & Investment club, plus diversity inclusion learning courtesy of our S.H.A.D.E.S. club.

As I approach college, my plan is to find an institution that allows me to thrive in both the classroom and on the field. But more importantly, I'm aiming for a metamorphosis of self – becoming stronger not only physically but also mentally through athletic challenges and personal growth experiences! Through sportsmanship, I've learned how essential it is to set goals big or small (and even when we mess up - there's always something waiting at bat).
