Making my high school varsity team as a freshman was a great experience for me. I had to quickly adjust and adapt to the environment of a scholar-athlete: attending practices every day after school, playing games on school nights, staying up late studying and finishing my homework. Granted, I’ve been playing travel soccer since I was 10, but I’d never had everyday practices, with the additions of strength training and speed and agility training. I had to make sacrifices to keep up with school and soccer, but it was all worth it because I made a commitment to the program and myself to keep my grades up, all the while excelling as an athlete.
I want to be a part of a school that is a good fit for me, both as an athlete and a student. I’m excited to experience the life of a college athlete – the teamwork, the fun, the challenges, all of it. I believe strongly that I have the right skill set to compete at the highest level for the right college team.
No matter if I’ve had a bad day or a fantastic one, I always bring a great attitude and a competitive work ethic in school and soccer. Positive attitudes are contagious, and I work hard to motivate myself and those around me. As an athlete and a student, I know I have what it takes to be at the top of my game on the field and in the classroom!
