Hello, my name is Araceli White and my nickname is Xeli. I started playing rec soccer when I was four years old and ever since then, I have been in love with the sport. Soccer for me is an escape from real life. The competitiveness and playing my best game makes me really happy and being a part of an amazing team only builds on that feeling. Off the field I am reserved and oftentimes shy, so when I’m playing soccer I feel like a totally different person which I enjoy. Creating close relationships and learning from others are my favorite parts of being on a team as well as being able to make any adjustments that my Coach asks of me. I am always working hard to improve myself on and off the field and whenever I make a mistake, I do not give up and always work to fix it.
I care a lot about my education. Math, History, and Science are my favorite subjects. I have always been interested in the arts as well. I love being involved in my school. I am part of our Student Government Association, Varsity Cheerleading, Basketball, Track, Drama, and of course, Soccer which is my favorite. I am also involved in my community as Miss Gladiolus Days 2022-2023 and strive to give back as much as I can through volunteering. My favorite community service project was honoring the Veterans in my community by putting together care packages with items that have come from local businesses and from our local community. Veterans are close to my heart as my Grandfather served 20 years in the Army. I lost him to Covid in 2021 and want to keep his memory alive by honoring the Veterans who are still with us.
Thank you for taking the time to read my personal statement.
Sincerely,
Araceli White
