I started playing soccer since I was 6 years old, in first grade. Ever since, I knew I wanted to continue to play. I have good ball control, and have been playing defense and midfield for the last two years. It helps that I can read the field and anticipate the opponents’ plays.
I switched to St Croix Prep, my current school, in 8th grade. The school has very high academic standards, and the first months were very challenging. I had to work hard to attain the same standards, and by December was named student of the month. When doing this, it showed me what I was capable of, and that was truly able to study and play at the next level.
I would say that I am good academically, and a very hard and disciplined worker. I have had influence from Mexican and Spanish cultures, and that gives me different perspectives about lifestyles –and has also helped me be fluent in Spanish.
I’ve been in Student Council since freshman year, and in the National Honor’s Society since junior year. In the short term, my purpose is to remain in the school’s A Honor Roll and to be admitted in a college with high academic standards.
