Personal Statement
Update:
I am a sophomore Catcher that just entered the NCAA Transfer Portal after spending last year at a NCAA Division 1 school in New York (Siena College). My goal is to find a school closer to home where I can continue my academic and athletic career. Prior to Siena College, I spend a year at McCook Community College which is a NJCAA Division 1 school in Nebraska.
I have 80 games worth of college experience (including 64 starts) between the two schools. My college batting average is .375 with an OBP of .489. I can forward my entire stat line if interested.
I was named to both the NJCAA Region All Region Team as well as the Omaha World Herald All-Midlands Team in 2022.
I have been on the Dean's List all 4 semesters of my college career.
My name is Syd Erlandson, I am from Woodbury, Minnesota. Softball has been my passion and a huge part of my life ever since I first started playing at six years old. I love the sport because it has taught me the value of working as a team, fueled my competitive spirit, and has led to me meeting some of my best friends. The life lessons softball has taught me have played a huge role in the person I am today. I would be a great fit for any program because I am a strong player both defensively and offensively. I can hit the long ball and move runners. I have a strong arm behind the plate, with an overhand speed of 65 mph and a pop time of 1.9. I am a dedicated and gifted student planning on majoring in Biology, as I am greatly interested in a career in the medical field.
