Amelia Matthews '27 Recruiting Profile

While many may find themselves searching for meaning in life, I have been fortunate to find my passion early. Through a combination of luck, perseverance, commitment, and family support, I have had the pleasure of experiencing the very best St. Louis soccer has to offer. Through my training I have developed a philosophy that has solidified my place in many teams and helped me rise to the top of my craft. My philosophy is simple, always strive to be better. I began my experience in a local rec league, climbed quickly to division one club competition and served as the only national premier goal keep for my previous club. Last year I successfully earned a GK position with Scott Gallagher Elite and after a season with that team, I was selected to play with Scott Gallagher Illinois ECNL-RL. In every league I have played I have found myself at the top of my league in statistical ratings. With a driving passion to develop my skills I have pressed my coaches to include me on multiple teams for field play as well which has allowed to me to develop skills in every position on the field. My love and passion are on the pitch and when it comes to training, learning, and improving, too much is never enough. I am very proud of the path that I have led thus far and the great friends I have made along the way. It is more than a dream for me to continue to develop my skills in every way possible and I am excited beyond words to see where the future takes me!
