Personal Statement
Hi, my name is Ellie Najarro. I am El Salvadorian and Polish and I am a 2024 graduate who plays as a forward or attacking center mid looking to play at the next level for soccer in college. I take initiative improve myself as an individual athlete mentally and physically. I’m very smart on and off the ball and also in my academics. My footstills are very sharp and fast and I am a very mindful player in making decisions to create many opportunities for my teams. I've been playing soccer since I was able to walk and it has always been apart of my lifestyle. Soccer was all I knew when I was little besides family. I had been accepted to a high-level high school with a great soccer program with a good academic scholarship but turned down the offer to stay in my district which has a very good soccer program as well. Moving up to my 7th-grade year, I got the opportunity to go to a ID camp at Notre Dame. They moved me a year up because of my skill level. I was one of the top skilled players in my age group. I also got to have a little practice at a SLU camp with high school athletes as a 7th grader going into the 8th grade. I attended the SLU ID camp again in the summer of 2021. During my sophomore year I had also attended the Exact college sports soccer camp in St. Louis ,Missouri in 2021. 8th grade year was the first year I tried out for a Missouri ODP team and I got on to their second team and had played with them for two seasons. My freshman year of high school I played at Kirkwood high school as a starter on JV and practiced with both JV and Varsity. I played for St. Louis Scott Gallagher Soccer for 6 years . I played for Real WC on their Elite and their 06 girls elite team And I am now on St.Louis Development Academy of their primer 06 navy team. Soccer is what I’m determined to take on as I go to college. When I was in 5th grade my dad took me to my first college soccer game and that night I knew playing soccer for my future college is what I wanted to do.
