Alyssa Pancoast '18 Recruiting Profile

    I started playing soccer at the age of 5, where I played recreational soccer with my local soccer club, the Bigfork Bandits. I continued to play fall recreational  soccer with the Bandits, but in 7th grade I began playing club. I traveled 90 minutes nearly everyday to compete with the Whitefish Rapids, where I found my passion for soccer. The following year I tried out for a different club team, the Flathead Force. With the Flathead Force I really found my connection with soccer and my teammates. Throughout the school day I would often find myself daydreaming about the upcoming weekend soccer games.

    Once I entered high school, I tried out for Bigfork High School Varsity soccer team, where I became a starting left outside defender. During my freshman year (2015) of club soccer, my team and I won state and competed in various soccer tournaments in which we did very well. Sophomore year,  I was a starting center defender where I helped my high school and club team compete nicely. In 2016 my club soccer team and I received 2nd place at a local tournament, Three Blind Refs. In my junior soccer season at Bigfork High School I was selected to be the captain. The team as well as the coaches came to an unanimous decision that I would fit the job perfectly because of my ability to lead, motivate, and push my teammates to do the best they could. Following being selected as the captain, at the end of the season I was selected as a 2nd team all-conference defender. In 2017 my club team placed 2nd at Hots Shots, a tournament that is played in Idaho.

    On top of playing soccer year round I work, go to school, and volunteer. I work at Echo Lake Cafe as a hostess, where I greet customers and assist any patrons by answering any questions they may have. As well as being a hostess, I work at Flathead Lake Lodge as a gift shop attendant, I house sit, and babysit. In school I have received a 4.0, made the superintendent's list, have 8 straight years of perfect attendance, and completed multiple college courses. I am a 3rd and 4th grade soccer coach and a 4th grade basketball coach. I am currently involved in National Honors Society, Interact, HOSA, Student Council, Band, and Pep Band. At 2017 HOSA (future health professionals of America) state I received 1st place in medical terminology and 2nd place in dental terminology. In 2016 I played the flute and marched in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade. As well as being involved in school related events, I volunteer. I intern at Crossroads Christian Fellowship as a youth leader, make dog treats for the Humane Society, make blankets for the homeless, assist in the Veteran’s Day assembly, and buy school supplies for the Heart Locker.
