My name is Ashlyn Kennedy. I live in Bonney Lake, Washington, attend online high school at the University of Nebraska High School, and participate in athletics at Bonney Lake High School. I remember my first club coach in second grade teaching and demanding us to use both feet. Since my early years of learning the game of soccer, I have always practiced and utilized both feet. I have DA, ECNL, EPD/ODP, and high school experience. In 2017 I captained my Washington state travel team (EPD) and played as center forward in our tournaments. In 2018, when my DA team, Crossfire Premier, and I won Surf Cup in the DA division, I played every minute of every game as a center back. On my ECNL team at Washington Premier in 2019, I primarily played holding and attacking midfield. Because of my extensive experience in numerous positions, and my years of practice and perfecting playing with both feet, I believe my versatility is what makes me a special and valuable player.
Due to getting burnt out and being in an unfit environment, I took most of 2020 off from soccer for my mental health and to refresh. During that time, I participated in cross country and track, captained both of those teams, and ran a marathon with my running partner. However, my heart belongs to the game of futbol and I am now working every day to reach my athletic potential with soccer. I am currently working with former MLS player James Riley in small group sessions and with his club team where I train with high school boys and college men. I feel that training with boys in an environment where the speed of play and quality of soccer are extremely high is greatly improving my own soccer performance and preparing me for the next level.
Besides my athletic hobbies which include playing soccer, running, lifting weights, and hot yoga, music is also a big part of my life as I enjoy playing guitar, ukelele, and going to the record store to expand my record collection. In addition, I have always made my scholastics a priority and have worked hard to maintain my 4.0 high school GPA. I believe my work ethic with athletics, academics, hobbies, and jobs have prepared me to become a student-athlete and take my game to the next level.
