Cate Gusick '26 Recruiting Profile

Hi, I’m Cate Gusick, and soccer has been my passion ever since I first stepped onto the field in 2018. Even though I started playing later than most, it quickly became a sport that challenged me to reach higher and become a dependable teammate. My dream is to keep growing as a player in college, working side-by-side with others who share my drive, not only in competition but also in our studies and future goals. After coming back to Nevada this year following a couple years travel to California, I was happy to become a "normal high=schooler" again, and proud to be chosen as captain of my new team, LV Heat-Surf ECNL (’08). I’ve also been honored as Nevada Defensive Player of the Year (NHSSCA) and earned a spot on the Nevada 5A All-League Team.

I’m the kind of player who shows up early and stays late, not just to improve my own skills, but to help everyone around me get better. Whether I’m playing for my high school, my club team, in ODP, or even traveling overseas, I believe in creating an atmosphere where every teammate feels respected and excited to push forward. I bring steady leadership, honest support, and a commitment to working hard so that together, we can reach new heights and celebrate what we’ve accomplished as one team.
