Haley Vaughan '20 Recruiting Profile

As a player, I have a high IQ for the game. I am solid with both my right foot and left foot, in fact, most people can not tell which foot is my dominant foot. Both of my short and long passes and crosses are usually accurate and to a player's feet. I have amazing free kicks either to feet or on the frame. As a defender, I am extremely skilled at 1 v1’s and making plays forward. One of my strongest assets as a player is my ability to read the field and shut down attackers. I am willing to do whatever it takes to win games and truly believe that we come as a team, play as a team, win as a team, and lose as a team. 

I always strive to be a positive voice on the field and to constructively give and receive advice while playing.  I have always talked to my teammates on the field with respect and always try to encourage them.  I believe that I can be a positive addition to your teams’ culture both on and off the field. 

I have a very strong work ethic on and off the field. My major is communication in digital journalism. In the classroom, I am an excellent student and currently have a 3.5 GPA. I was on both the president’s and dean's list my freshman year. 

I believe in working hard for what you want in life and not taking shortcuts.  This is why I  place value on physical and mental health, so I am able to perform to the best of my abilities on the field and in the classroom. I will try my best to outwork any player there is, and I am determined to get better at my weaknesses. I am not afraid to work.  On off days I can always be found working on myself whether or not that is a day I take completely off or try to get my legs moving with a walk or run to improve my games.
