Bailey Gatchell '25 Recruiting Profile

Being the youngest of three sisters allowed me to watch my sisters go through different experiences before I did. Crawling around on a soccer field watching my sister play is where my love for the game began. I aspired to not only play like her but become better then her like most younger siblings dream of.  As I grew up I found myself competing in every sport I could and being the girl to compete with all the boys in gym class or recess. Growing up in a competitive household where even card games got intense I found my love for competition. I played every sport as a kid but soccer was always the sport I held the most love for. 

Hello, my name is Bailey Gatchell and I am currently a  fifteen year old sophomore enrolled at Pembroke Academy. Through middle school and now in my high school career I have always been one to participate in as many activities as I can. I am a three sport athlete playing soccer, basketball, and most recently began playing lacrosse instead of softball. I was the captain of my basketball team my junior year which I took as a huge compliment because I am in no way the best player on a basketball court but I showed leadership skills that my coach saw stand out in myself. I am the treasurer of my 2025 class office where I work with my other officers putting on different fundraisers for our grade and keeping the grade stable. I participate in all school activities like themed football games, winter carnival events and decorations, spring fling, dressing up on spirit weeks, and supporting the schools breast cancer pink out games. Outside of my student-athlete life I enjoy skiing, snowboarding, camping, traveling to places all over the country, and pursuing my love for holidays by decorating and doing every holiday activity. 

Having played soccer since I can remember it has built my personality in the best ways. I am competitive and have become a leader in everything I do. The first compliment I get from everyone I work with is my impeccable leadership skills. Soccer has given me amazing social skills as I am often the one to welcome any new players who joins my team or bond with people when I compete with them. Having a ball on my foot on a field has become my favorite and most safe place to be to learn and grow. 

Soccer has also made me a better academic student. I have always excelled in school since a little kid but as I got older I realized that academic success is required to play the sport I love. Being a student athlete I have strived to be at the top academically and athletically maintaining a 3.89 GPA unweighted and a 4.05 GPA weighted. I am now also a part of my schools National Honors Society. I am proud of my academic achievements and the motivation, determination, and self discipline to achieve my goals academically and athletically together. I have the best supporters in my life who have given me everything I've needed to be successful in whatever I've wanted to achieve. 

I hope to play at the highest level possibly and work in a great athletic and academic environment that I know I will be able to make an impact, excel, and strengthen your program.
