My name is Jaylin Ladd, I am 16, and I love soccer. I have been playing soccer since I was 6 and I have always played defense. However, I have recently changed positions to a defensive midfielder, but I can play anywhere the coach needs me to. Soccer has always been my favorite sport and I want to play at the highest level. My dream is to be on the USWNT, and playing at a very competitive college that makes me an overall better player, will help me get there. My schedule is always full of soccer and school. When I have a free day, I want to go to a field to make myself better because I know there is always room for improvement. Other than soccer, though, I play point guard in basketball and have been playing since I was also 6. Recently, I have also helped with the unified volleyball team at my school. Unified means that we get to help set up the kids that are a little more challenged for success. I have enjoyed this, and I look forward to doing it for the rest of the time I am in high school.
On the soccer field, I am not the fastest player out there, but I always hustle and put 110% into every game I play. I am very defensive minded, and I know when to step to the ball, or use my basketball knowledge with angles to make sure nobody turns to get by me, giving my teammates an opportunity to get back and help defend our goal. This year, I received the opportunity to play for the FC Stars (NH) ECNL '07 Regional Team. This was a difficult decision to make since I played for Capital Alliance Football Club for 7 years, however, this decision will allow the opportunity for a new coaching perspective and growth. I also play on the varsity soccer team for my high school, Pembroke Academy, and I started at center back as a freshman and transitioned to a defensive midfielder as a sophomore where I continue to play. I have been told I was "born to be the 6". Both years I have helped lead my team to championship games.
Most say I have leadership qualities, on and off the field. On the field I am always talking and motivating my teammates. Off the field, I help my classmates with school work, and everyday life. In school I always work my hardest and maintain a 3.4+ GPA.
I hope you will consider my future potential, and my love/want for the game when selecting players for your roster.
