Sophia Sayers '24 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Sophia Sayers I am 16 years old, and I play for Seacoast United G2006 GA2 as well as Timberlane High School. I am 5'11” and have been playing soccer since the age of three. My goal is to play soccer at the highest level starting with high school and then moving into the college ranks and continue to build on my skills.  

When playing for my high school, I have played as an outside midfielder, forward, and goalkeeper. I believe this is helpful as a goalkeeper because I can see the entire field, see where my opponent positions the ball, and what occurs in their minds. This is why my high school coach gave me the nickname "Swiss Army Knife" due to my versatility on and off the field. I also believe playing in the field allows me to have great footwork which is great tool for a goalkeeper.  For my high school, I am also on the Varsity swim team as one of the captains and Varsity track and field team which I believe plays into soccer as I am part of a team, work on stamina, endurance, and participate in relays which builds trust within a team.

What I love about soccer is the determination, effort, and dedication a player needs to put into the game. Being determined and putting in the effort is crucial because it will allow me to reach my dreams and play at the highest level.
