Throughout my soccer career I have joined 5 different teams. Initially I played for my hometown on a travel team. We were second in the state and always competed at the highest level. I then moved on to another travel team in Freehold NJ. Before joining that team, they had been ranked somewhere in the middle of the spectrum. They were not #1 but they had potential. I came into the team with a desire to win and bring our rankings up. After playing with them for a little over a year they had jumped to top 30 in the state. We were competing with top notch academies in area. With my motivation and drive I was able to help both the team and myself grow as players. My next step in my soccer career led me to play for PDA shore. Here I was able to learn more about myself as a player. I value perfecting the basics and working on my own time to better my technique and fitness. PDA allowed me to travel to Colorado for nationals. It was a great experience where I learned about preparation. It is so vital to be prepared both physically and mentally. To be at the top of your game you must be in the zone. I learned that I play my absolute best when I play with confidence. I felt that at PDA I was not given the opportunity to showcase all of my abilities. After playing for PDA for 3-4 years I decided to further my soccer career and play for Millstone BOCA. This was again a very similar situation to when I joined Freehold. Millstone BOCA was ranked in the top 50 of NJ. When I left a year later, Millstone BOCA was ranked #6 in the state. We had beaten teams like PDA, CSA, PSA, NJ RUSH, along with many other top notch academies. We were not only competing with the best but we were beating them. This team had grown tremendously within just a year. Throughout my time with this team I learned very crucial lessons in the soccer world. “Empty the tank”, “head is always on a swivel”, “be the most aggressive person on the field”, “want it more than any other player”. On this team I found my true love for the game. I have so much passion for soccer. I love the workouts in the hot sun when sweat gets in your eyes. I love the feeling when you think you can’t play any longer but you find that extra drive which leads you to a score a game winning goal. I love learning from different coaches. Taking multiple things away from their sessions and applying it to my game the best that I can! Soccer is a part of my life. I will always cherish the memories and lessons that soccer brings to me but I am not done yet. I am hoping for college soccer to bring more to my game. I hope to learn more about myself both as a player and a person. I now play for Cedar Stars Academy 2002 national league team. This change brought along a new coach. Coach Miguel Nieto has brought new vision to me. It is so important to understand the game. You must know where you are and what you plan to do next. You must always be one step ahead. Soccer IQ is crucial. Understanding the game comes before anything else. I am a player that truly loves to learn and be coached!
In my high school years I have also played lacrosse since freshman year and this past winter, 2019-2020, I wrestled for my school. I value new experiences and I love to challenge myself!
I am interested in majoring in the medical field, specifically nursing/dental. My GPA is 4.78 and my SAT score is 1320. I am ranked 8/430 at Jackson Memorial High School. I’m looking for a school where I can belong to a family. Where we have a strong bond and play together as a team. Teams win championships not individuals. I pride myself in my work ethic and openness to learn new things.
I would be happy to provide any of my prior coach’s contact information!
