Hi my name is Alissa Hough. I am a very dedicated soccer player who loves the game more than anything! I have been playing soccer since I was 4 and have been playing the game ever since. I’ve played with mount laurel, lumberton, SJEB Rush and Marlton. All those teams ended up splitting which is why I constantly moved around!
Entering into high school, I was on the freshman team as a starter for a forward. Into half of the season I tore 3 ligaments in my knee which required surgery and set me back for 1 1/2 years. Covid also set my injury back by 1/2 year but I worked harder than ever to get back to soccer. Although I was out I continued to show up to every practice and game that Varisty and my club team had. Now that I am back I am more determined and excited than I ever have been.
One of my goals is to play soccer in college at a high level. I am hardworking, dedicated and I always give 100% on the field. I think the biggest trait to have as a teammate is leadership which I always carry around. I leave everything on the field and prepare myself for the next session. If the coaches need help with equipment or anything I am always there because I know picking up after training would be a lot just on the coaches.
When it comes to choosing a school that’s a good fit for me I am open minded. I am mainly looking at schools near the east coast (New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New York). My top two choices for a major right now is sports medicine and Pre-Med. I have been very interested in those two majors since I was 11 and I hope to learn more about them!
I strive to continue playing soccer in college at a competitive level. My main goal is to make a difference on the team and set examples for the younger groups. When I leave I want to know that I made an impact and gave it my best!
