Dear Coaches,
My name is Sara Lehman and I am a junior at Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School in New Jersey. I have been a varsity starter for my high school the last three years, primarily at center back, switching to holding mid depending on the game situation. I have been at my club, Morris United/STA for the last 5 years, primarily playing as a defender, however I do play minutes as a attacking mid & forward, also depending on game situation. If you were to ask me where I prefer to play my answer is simple: it's where I can make the biggest impact and help my team succeed. I love that I can play with my back to the goal defending but also attack.
I am an A student with accelerated and AP classes and part of my school's yearbook staff. In 2018, I had the opportunity to play in London, England as a team member of the Arsenal Soccer School of NJ. To play against European club teams was one of the greatest experiences I have ever had playing. I grew up around soccer in my family. My grandfather helped start the soccer league in our town in the mid 70's. Both of my uncles played at a high level in college and still coach at the club levels today. Along with my coaches, they have helped guide me to be the player I am today. I am looking forward to the next two years playing at STA and high school and hope to continue my career at the collegiate level.
-Sara
