Hi, my name is Kaylee Hartung. I am 17 years old and a Junior at Gloucester County Institute of Technology in Sewell, NJ.
I have always been surrounded by soccer. I began playing with a recreational league when I was four years old and then continued on to play for travel and premier teams. My goal is to continue my soccer career in college because I can't imagine stopping something I love so much after high school. The sport has been there for me through my hardest times. When I lost my dad a few years ago, soccer was the one thing I wanted to do; when I am on the field all of my worries go away, it's just me and the game. Soccer has been an essential part of my life and taught me many life lessons about being part of a team and the benefits of hard work and determination. I am always first to arrive and last to leave all of my team training sessions and games. During the off-season I am still training and/or working out at least twice a week. I was named co-captain of my team for the past 3 years and have been recently be named head captain. I have strong leadership qualities, not only by encouraging and giving direction, but by being an example as well. I have always accepted constructive-critisicm, knowing it will make me a better athlete. If I get the chance to continue my career throughout college, I am willing to put in the necessary effort and commitment, and always giving it my all to reach my full potential.
I am a well-rounded student athlete who excels in the classroom. I have a 4.0 GPA and a weighted average of 103.4. I am in the top 5% of my class. I am currently enrolled in the Allied Health and Medical Sciences program at my high school. All of my classes are honors or college-level. I am actively involved in school activities and have participated in multiple clubs, such as student council and Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA). Being in these high-level classes, clubs, and sports teams, I have learned the importance of time management. I hope to attend a college where I will be challenged both academically and athletically. I aspire to become a successful student athlete and a role model to those around me.
