The biggest influences in my life are my parents. They are my number one supporters and encourage me every day to shoot for the stars. They raised me to have a great work ethic, to be a team player, and to be willing to learn and grow every day. I have participated in soccer since I was five. Year after year, season after season I fell more in love with not only the beautiful game but the person I became because of the sport. Soccer allowed me to leave my comfort zone and believe in myself. I started as a forward and remained one up until age eleven. Our starting goalkeeper was sick and they needed someone to step up and play the position. Hesitant at first, I raised my hand. From then on I grew stronger and continued developing my skills as a goalkeeper.
As in love and as focused as I was with my soccer career, academics remained my number one priority. To this day my academics are important to me, especially when it comes to choosing a college. I am in search of a college that not only fits my athletic needs but fits my academic needs as well. My drive and commitment to being the best I can be not only applied to the game but in the classroom as well. Being driven has also allowed me to overcome the obstacles I have faced in the soccer world. Unfortunately, not everyone will support or believe in you. I have faced time after time the doubt of other athletes, coaches, and adults. My drive and hunger to not only be better but to succeed have allowed me to get past the doubt and to become the best version of myself. This has paid off greatly and allowed me to win championships, earn awards athletically and academically, and become a two year Captain for my high school's varsity team. I am excited to see what doors have been opened and to find the school that best fits me!
