Elizabeth (“Lily”) Delaney '27 Recruiting Profile

I’ve always been a goalkeeper by choice, because I love it!  The first time I stood in the keeper box, I was that kid who stood their ground against shots on goal & players in the box.  These qualities still stick with me, staying locked in with pure determination and all-out effort.

I am constantly training to become a better goalkeeper, seeking to improve my skills. I am a team player and happy to contribute to my teams. Additionally, I thrive under pressure. I allowed only one goal during the first five rounds of the New York State playoffs and delivered the first shutout in three years to our fourth-round competitor, Mount Academy.   

I was selected to my High School Varsity soccer team in 8th grade, at age 12, and started in five games.  In my second Varsity season, I competed against two upper-classmen goalkeepers (12th & 11th) and earned the starting position.  For the 2024 season, my high school team was New York State Class B Sectional Champions, Regional Champions, and State runners-up.

In January 2023, I was invited to join the Girls Academy team at NYSC, where we were the 2023 U14 Jefferson Cup Champions. 

In March 2025, I was invited to play for the prestigious World Class FC where I hope to further challenge myself and grow as a goalkeeper.

My college goals are to compete and study at the highest level of athletics and academics. I attended the Bronxville School, a competitive public school ranked #133 in the nation by U.S. News & Report.

Outside of school & sports: I‘ve been a Girl Scout since 2015.  I was awarded the Girl Scouts’ Silver Award for making a difference in my community - founding “Fostering Fashion Forward,” a teen-focused clothing drive.  I then expanded this project to co-found a partnership with three students at my high school to create the “BXV/MV Partnership” to continue to run additional drives (back to school, winter wear, personal care & a large prom drive ) for the Mount Vernon High School Knights Boutique, a needs-based free store for students within MVHS who are at risk, displaced or in foster care, for which I was awarded Bronxville High School’s 2024 Award for Engaged Citizenship.
