Soccer has been a huge part of my life since I began playing it when I was four. It has helped me develop many important qualities such as leadership, communication, teamwork which I use both on and off the field. I am also a multi sport athlete playing basketball, softball, and winter track. As a goalkeeper, I use the skills I have learned from all the other sports I play. I consider myself to be a well-rounded student and scholar athlete. In addition to my sports and academics I also participate in multiple community service activities, including Girl Scouts.
My work ethic is what sets me apart. I set goals for myself and work diligently to achieve them. In soccer, I did not make the first travel team I tried out for and continued to play until I did. From there I worked my way up to higher level teams eventually becoming the starting goalkeeper for the JV team and making varsity the next year as a sophomore. I earned the sportsmanship award on JV for my hard work and commitment to the team. Academically, I always challenge myself by taking the most difficult course load and participating in educational competitions. Just recently I placed top 10% nationally for honorable mention in the Toshiba Exploravision competition. I look to continue at improving my soccer and academic abilities and hopefully play soccer at the collegiate level.
