Emily Neenan '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Emily Neenan and I am a rising junior forward/midfielder that will graduate in the class of 2023. I currently attend Victor Senior High School in Victor, N.Y. and have played for the school’s Varsity team since my sophomore year. I also am a starting forward for an elite club team called FC Dynamo Roc. Soccer has long been a passion of mine, and my love for the sport has only continued to grow as I progress in my training. I'm sure my neighbors can attest to how often I am in my backyard kicking a ball around, improving my touch, or just juggling. It’s that kind of dedication and heart that I will bring with me into any program at the next level. I was brought up by parents that instilled in me to, ‘always try your best.’ I have lived by that mantra, and to me, those words mean that I will never give less than 100% to anything I am involved in. It’s always my goal to be the hardest worker on the field and in the classroom, a balancing act for sure, but anyone will tell you I am always game for a challenge. I think of myself as an extremely driven person and have read enough sports success stories to accurately know that success is never given, it must be earned. It’s that knowledge that drives me to keep working each day because I know it’s the mentality I need to have in order to be able to play in college. I also believe I am a very coachable person and a team player. I actively try to implement the advice of my coaches and teammates into my game, as I am well aware their words will only help me. I believe wholeheartedly in the aforementioned quote of the legendary Carli Lloyd- passion and dedication have to be ‘all-time,’ and my hustle, grit, and determination to be better than I was yesterday has no off switch. I would be honored to play for a team at the collegiate level, and any program that I would be lucky enough to play for would get a player that leaves everything out on the field, and is willing to do whatever it takes to help the team achieve greatness.
