Personal Statement
My collegiate goals and aspirations are to be at a college where I can enjoy learning in my educational program and play the game I love, softball. I have been playing this game since I was 5 years old. In my early career I began training as a pitcher. I had a lot of success during my 10U and 12U, and 14U seasons. I was committed to my pitching workouts and learning different pitches when I was ready. However, I found myself feeling more comfortable and confident in the infield. I have been working in the gym and outside pursuing shortstop on my high school varsity team. My work ethic and passion for the game progresses every year. I have been lucky enough to have two great parents in my life as well as knowledgeable coaches who have invested in me their time and support. I am a three sport athlete. I play tennis, basketball, and softball. I love tennis and basketball too, they help me with my foot work and keep me conditioned. In the fall of 2017, my freshman year, I was fortunate to win sectionals with my varsity tennis team. Also during my freshman year I earned the varsity short stop position, and helped my team win our first Section Five State Title. We were the first team in Section Five Class AA history to win a State Title. The memories will last a life time, I'm looking forward more wins and everlasting memories with my teammates. Academically, I have been able to successfully make the honor roll each quarter while playing a sport each season. I have a white board on my bedroom wall and write down my goals, the best feeling is when I get to check them off. I am looking forward to being surrounded by girls who have the same drive and work ethic as I do. I love being part of a team and being a team player on and off the field. My favorite quote from Babe Ruth, "It's hard to beat a person who never gives up." I have persevered through wins and loses and have learned to reflect on each game. My biggest mission is to always move forward and not think about the past but think about the future.
