Personal Statement
Soccer has been a major part of my life as early as age three. Like every other child, I tried many different sports which all lasted only one season. But soccer stuck and has since helped to create the person I am today. It has taught me how to be a leader through the captain role I took for my club, as well as how to work within a team.
Throughout my thirteen years of soccer, I have faced adversity from starting on the bottom team in my club to being denied a spot on higher teams. But these set backs taught me to be both mentally and physically tough. I learned how to set goals and how to follow through with plans. Along with all the life skills that I learned from the game, I also developed a deep love and commitment to it. Because of this I became involved in refereeing along with volunteer coaching for younger teams.
Soccer is not just something I play in my free time. It is a passion that is helping to shape my life.
