My name is Amy McGugan and I am of the graduating class of 2019. I have played soccer since I was 4 years old and ever since it has always been my dream to play college soccer.
I have played on many different club teams in various states including North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. Currently, I am not playing on a club team in Raleigh as I have just moved into the area a year ago. I am a fullback, but can play, with confidence and knowledge, every position that a coach may find helpful to the team. I am dominant on my right foot, but can also play well with my left. I can read the game well and pick up the pace when needed. I am committed to becoming a better player and strive everyday to improve my game.
I have always dreamed of playing college soccer. I grew up dreaming to become as great as Mia Hamm, Julie Foudy, and Heather O'reilly. If given the chance, I know I can become a great asset to any team. Throughout my life, people have doubted me on accomplishing my dream. I am constantly being told to find something better, focus on more important things, but all I've ever wanted to do is play soccer. I know that only one in every 5,000 high school students go on to represent a college soccer team. I am committed to being the one in five thousand. I plan to give 100% into everything I do and any team I am placed on.
I am an honor roll student currently at Ravenscroft School in Raleigh, North Carolina. I am very active in the community often volunteering to glean crops for the needy, working with organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and Warmth for Wake, and various other activities affiliated with Key Club. I hope to gain leadership skills and looking to represent my grade on the Student Government Association at Ravenscroft. I hope to continue to volunteer and give back to the community in college as well as working hard in the classroom.
Thank you for your time ~ Amy McGugan
