My goal is to be a goalkeeper at the collegiate level for a school with a strong engineering program.
I have been playing at a competitive level for 8 years starting at U8. Previously, I participated in two other travel sports, basketball and softball, which have improved my overall athletic ability .
Previous club coaches have toId me that they appreciate my positive attitude and how coachable I am. I understand how much effort it takes to compete at a high level and I am willing to put in as much work as it takes to get there.
I enjoy playing goalkeeper because it allows me to use my analytical skills to help communicate with my teammates throughout the game. I also enjoy the freedom when it comes to distribution and I have the ability to quickly and accurately distribute the ball through whatever method necessary, whether playing the ball long or out of the back.
During my freshman season of high school, I started on JVA and did not allow a single goal. This allowed me to be pulled up to the Varsity squad at the end of the year, which provided higher-level training. Sophomore year I played varsity and made the GWOC 3rd Team and had 4.3 shutouts in a span of 10 games.
Academically I like to push myself with honors level classes, in all subjects. I am always a student before an athlete but I am able to find a good balance . I’ve been able to make the honor roll each quarter and have maintained a strong GPA.
Outside of soccer and school, I volunteer at the local organization that provides food for kids that need extra food, and I also help out at church with the toddler classes. I’ve also been a part of a middle school and high school robotics team and we qualified for the VEX Robotics World competition both years .
