Making the varsity team as a freshman was so important to me. I grew a lot the first two years while I served as the back-up goalkeeper for my team and occasionally played as a mid-fielder. While I did not have a lot of play time those first 2 years, I was able to learn and support my teammates while I worked towards being a starting player. It was my personal goal to become the starting goalkeeper my junior year after the current starting goalkeeper graduated. I worked out 2-3 times a week year-round on strength training and participated in private goalkeeper training with a professional futsal goalkeeper. My first year as a starting goalkeeper I was #1 in the conference and county for number of saves, #8 for D2 Ohio high schools, and #21 in the state of Ohio for overall goalkeeper stats. I have completed my second year as a starting goalkeeper with 196 saves and was #1 in the conference, county, and Cleveland region, #2 in all of Ohio for D2 high schools and #7 in Ohio for all divisions.
I have a strong work ethic and leadership skills both on and off the field as I have served as Vice President of my sophomore and junior classes, a member of the National Honor Society, and been nominated by my teammates as a team captain for the current Fall 2020 season. I am confident that I have what it takes to compete at the college level and am looking for a team that will be a good match for me both athletically and academically.
