Personal Statement

Since as long as I can remember, I have wanted to play college soccer. I have reached the first phase of my goal playing for Lower Columbia College in Longview, Washington.  It has been an amazing experience.  Exceptional teammates and coaches who have become my family.  I believe I am not only a better player, but a better person after playing at LCC this season.

Over the past several years, I have learned more about myself not only as a player, but perhaps more importantly as a person. My goal is to be part of an college soccer program where I am able to further develop my skills, contribute and have a positive impact while being part of something bigger than myself. For me, the “who” is as important as the “where”. I know the life of a student athlete is not easy, but I want to be pushed daily to better myself.

I can kick, I can run fast, I can launch throw-ins, I can score, I can defend; but what sets me apart from the pack are the 4 Ds: Desire, drive, dedication and Delaney, ME! I have the desire to be the best player I can, the best teammate, student and leader. My drive to succeed goes beyond the pitch; it guides me to take every opportunity and moment to improve; that means in the weight room, off- & pre-season workouts, the classroom, whatever it takes. Dedication for me isn’t just the now. I know what I do today affects tomorrow and beyond. I want to be dedicated to a legacy of greatness beyond my playing time on the field. Finally, the Delaney. I am confident in my technical and physical skills but more importantly of the person I am and strive to be on a daily basis. I know how to step up and lead when teammates or coaches need me to and when to sit back and support those around me. I am confident with my ability to learn, observe and continue to develop as a player and person while having an immediate impact for the greater good.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
