Personal Statement

My name is Ella Smith. I am a goalkeeper for FC Portland’s 03 ECNL and Century High School in Hillsboro, Oregon.

As a keeper I can distribute the ball in a variety of ways. If I choose to punt, I consistently put the ball past midfield. For goal kicks, I can hit a variety of targets around the 50 yard line. I can also receive a pass and play with my feet or throw to my teammates on the move. Having worked with my keeper coach Bill Irwin for so many years, my positioning and anticipation allows me to make difficult saves routine.

I love being a student athlete, lifting weights and excelling in school. Academically, I look forward to the challenge of collegiate courses. I currently have a 3.96 G.P.A. (4.1 weighted) and enjoy taking AP classes and participating in National Honor Society.
