Personal Statement
When I was in 6th grade, I tried out for my first elite club team. I did not make the roster and it was my first rejection. On my club team, I had always been one of the most skilled players, so this was a challenge I had never faced before. Instead of taking that rejection the wrong way, I started working out extra on my own, unlike I ever had before. I started playing futsal in addition to soccer, which helped develop my technical game. I tried out again and made the ECNL team, which is where I play today. Facing rejection and proving to myself I actually could do anything I set my mind to led to the grit and high work ethic I have as a person and player today.
I believe my best strength is my vision on the field and my ability to anticipate and deliver accurate and creative passes. My field vision and anticipation help set my team up for success. I am equally strong using both feet and I have good technical skills. I am a team player who is very coachable and always focused. I am a versatile player and can play both center and outside mid. In my primary position of center mid, I take pride in leading a strong defense but I am also effective in initiating the attack and changing the flow of the game.
I have been able to achieve a 4.2 GPA while playing both club and high school soccer. I strive to maintain my high GPA by setting high standards for myself. I am taking all the honors classes possible, and I am always going the extra mile to challenge myself and produce my best work on and off the field.
I am looking forward to finding the perfect collegiate fit and my next challenge!
