Sadie Melville '26 Recruiting Profile

My name is Sadie Melville and I am entering my Junior year of high school (class of 2026).   I have been playing soccer since the age of 3, and have grown to love the sport more and more over time.  I am fortunate to play for two very successful teams.   My Grant HS soccer team won the 6A Championships in 2023, and my Portland City United club team competed in the USYS National Championships this summer.   While I am a starting outside back for both teams, I sometimes play forward.   I am a fast, tenacious, dedicated, and highly coachable team player, with remarkable endurance.   I put full effort in everything I do and perform well under pressure.   As and track and field athlete, I am one of the top runners for my high school in the 100m, 200m, 400m and 800m events, and our medley relay team set a school record this year.  For the past two years I have taken dance classes, which rounds out my fitness level and helps me with focus, as I need to perform to large audiences multiple times during the school year.   Outside of sports,  I excel in academics (4.0 GPA), speak Japanese fluently, am a journalist for our high school newspaper, and work as a youth sports camp counselor.   I look forward to further challenges and growth at the collegiate level, both in soccer and academics.
