Competing in the Southeast Regional Cup in Round Rock TX in June 2019 was my first major accomplishment to me as a player. In 2018, when my team made it to States for the first time, we lost every game and it was an awful feeling for us all after such a successful year. Those losses were a wake up call and made me even more motivated to work harder. The next season I worked as hard as I could and saw growth in not only the game, but in my attitude towards it. I realized that this sport was more than just a game, it was something that I saw in my future. Each year I trained harder and changed clubs multiple times to continue my growth at higher levels. In 2021/22 I was one of the captains on SC Surf GA and made the Surf National team competing at the Surf Cup in July ‘22. I also tried out for and made the SC UFC 04/05 ECNL team for my final high school club season.
Throughout both my club and high school seasons, I balanced both my determination for the sport and my focus on academics, maintaining straight A's. Being able to mange my many interests and schoolwork has showed me that I am capable of reaching my goals. Those goals include finding a college that pushes me to succeed in soccer and in all of my academics. I have and always will aim to be the hardest worker on the field and push myself to the best of my abilities.
I also believe that the game of soccer is not only about winning, but also that it revolves around teamwork and sportsmanship, and that is something I stand by having as a fellow teammate. I know that I not only have the skills as a player, but I have the motivation to reach all of my potential.
