I believe that the greatest people in life are not the one's who are given their place, but work for it. The past 6 years, I have been competing against 3 other keepers to become one of the greatest. I have had to work hard and put in many 'overtime' practice hours to push myself to be better not because of them, but because I want to do more and push myself further than anyone else. In goal, I don't want to be there just stopping shots, because I am "more than a moving cone" on and off the field. I strive to be the best in everything, but I know when I have to improve and put the work in.
As a goalkeeper, it is easy to feel disconnected from the team, but I like to talk to my team to keep order and make sure our goals as a team are clearly communicated. I believe one of the most important aspects of a team, is making sure you are able to trust, confide, and enjoy each other's companies in true team chemistry. This is a must in all teams because what is soccer without joy?
