Dear Coaches,
I am Alana Coulter. First off, I would like to thank you for viewing my profile! I am currently a junior at Brookeland ISD in Brookeland, Texas. Interestingly, I am supposed to be a sophomore, but due to my academic level, I was moved up a grade in elementary school. This will allow me to graduate a year earlier than originally planned. I am in the top 10% of my graduating class and have an aspiration of becoming Valedictorian. As of this year, I have started taking dual credit college classes at Angelina Junior College. I was recently named the 2018 Homecoming Queen during our homecoming festivities. I am also serving as the 2019 Class President for the fourth year straight. I am a four year Veteran of the Varsity Cheer Squad and I am currently serving as one of the Captains. I am in my fourth year of high school softball and I am the starting center fielder, winning first team all-district outfield this year. I competed in cross country at the Junior Varsity level and placed 6th at our district meet, winning Runner of the Year this season. I played Varsity Tennis and I qualified in girls’ doubles for Regionals, winning Tennis Player of the Year. I am the Secretary of our school’s organization, FCCLA (Family, Community, Career, Leaders of America). In 2016, two fellow students and I competed at the State Level in Illustrated Talk. Our presentation brought light to the very serious issue of teen bullying. In February of 2017, I was inducted into National Honors Society. I have also competed in Texas UIL ever since grade school. I advanced to Regionals this year in Prose Interpretation. Finally, I am a Christian and I’m a very active member of Peachtree Baptist Church in Jasper, Texas. In the summer of 2016, I volunteered at East Texas Baptist Encampment in Newton, Texas.
My number one goal as a collegiate student/athlete is attain my degree in Bachelor of Science in Nursing. I plan to become a full-time nurse. My second goal is to play collegiate level soccer. I know I am a good candidate for any team because my work ethic, character, values, and my faith are the driving forces behind my passion to become a better person on and off the field. I have played competitive soccer for almost 8 years and I have never missed a match. I am the type of player that perseveres through sickness and injury to help lead her team. My commitment to my team and teammates is unrivaled.
I began playing recreational soccer at the age of four years old. At the age of seven, I began playing academy league soccer for the independent club, Twisters SC out of Jasper, Texas. In August of 2011, Twisters SC transitioned to become members of the Houston-based club, Albion Hurricanes FC. Below is a chronological list of the teams that I have been rostered with:
August 2011-May 2014: AHFC 02G Blue East (EDDOA “A” Bracket)
May 2014-December 2015: AHFC 02G B (Premier League (TX, LA, AR, & OK))
January 2016-May 2016: AHFC 01G Blue East (Champions League)
August 2016-Present: AHFC 00G Blue East (US Club Soccer “A” Bracket)
***Along with playing for the 00G Blue East team, I am currently dual-rostered with the AHFC 98/99G Blue East team (US Club Soccer “B” Bracket)
August 2017-May 2018: AHFC 00/01G Regional National Team
August 2018-May 2019: AHFC 00/01G
Regional National Team
My primary position is Defending Midfielder, but my coach will periodically move me to Attacking Midfielder, depending on how the match is progressing. I am the type of player that can be placed anywhere on the field and still maintain a high level of play in that position. My style of play is a very physical and tactical style. I’m a very unselfish player that can hold possession and distribute the ball calmly anywhere on the pitch. I am a right-footed player, but I can also pass, cross, and strike efficiently with my left foot. Some of my major attributes are my strength/physicality, my vision, my soccer intelligence/IQ, and my overall effort throughout the course of the game.
In summation, I am a very versatile, open-minded player that will play any role needed by the coach. I know that I will be a valuable asset to any collegiate team that gives me the opportunity to play at that level. Once again, thank you for viewing my profile and I hope to hear from you soon!
Sincerely, Alana Coulter
