Katarina Baehren '19 Recruiting Profile

My name is Katarina Baehren.  I dream of playing soccer at the highest level possible and getting a great education at the same time.  I believe I can play for a top program and help them win championships.  I am very tall, 5'10 right now, and I don't think I'm done growing yet.  I am exceptionally strong in the air.  I have very solid technical skills and like to keep things simple when I play.  I am a natural lefty but play equally well with both feet.  I also have a very strong throw-in.  I can reach inside the six-yard box from the touch line with my throws.  I am also a set-piece specialist, taking all corner kicks when I am in the game.  I enjoy training as much as games and have a very high fitness level.  I have a very calm demeanor and I am a vocal leader on my team.

Academically, I have a 6.717 GPA out of 6.0 due to the advanced course work I am taking.  I am a very diligent student.  I am also a pretty good test-taker.  I have an interest in education academically.  Both my parents are educators and I just love being around kids.  I also am interested in engineering.  I am really good at math and science.

Outside of soccer, I enjoy shopping with my mom.  I also like to go hunting and fishing with my dad.  I LOVE the beach and anything to do with the coast.  I even know how to surf...a little.  I also like to read and watch cooking shows and remodeling shows on TV.
