Personal Statement
Growing up I watched my older brother play every sport imaginable, but the very first time I saw him at a soccer game, at age 3, I knew that soccer was the sport I wanted to play. I moved a lot and soccer has always brought me home and given me a place of belonging. Because of the different sports I’ve played and teams I’ve been apart of, I’ve learned to adapt to a plethora of coaching styles and personalities. My teammates from all my different sports and club teams are some of my favorite people, and they have played a huge role in the player I am today.
As I finish out my junior year of high school, I hope to stay in the top 5 people in my class, and continue my soccer career while earning a degree in the medical field. Playing on a U19 team since the age of 14, I’ve learned to trust in my abilities and not doubt myself, but also how to work to get better and hold myself accountable. I’ve also learned different ways to lead depending on the players that are with me on the field. As a person and player, I’ve been told that my strongest assets as an athlete are my coach-ability, competitiveness, and work ethic.
