I first became interested in soccer at a young age after watching my parents coach my older sister. Growing up in a family that was very active and supportive really helped me thrive. I started off playing recreational soccer but later on joined a club team and played for my school as well. I've played with many groups of girls, older and younger, and played a variety of positions. A big learning experience I had that helped me grow, not only as player but as person as well, is when I lost my starting position in junior high soccer. This gave me time to think about what areas I needed to improve upon. It motivated me to work much harder to prove to myself and my coach how much I wanted to play and contribute to my team.
Going into high school I am dedicated to developing as a player and learning everyday. I want to push myself to be the best I can in sports and in school. Having good grades in school is just as important as sports to me. In middle school, I completed advanced level classes and my grades were very good. Being able to maintain high grades while playing sports isn't alway easy, but I've been able to manage my time and prioritize my tasks to do so. Getting the opportunity to further not only my education, but also my career as an athlete in soccer would help to prove all my hard work is worth it.
