My name is Isabel, or Izzy for short, and I'm a junior this year. I currently play central defensive midfielder in both my club and high school teams, but I play wherever I'm needed, including attacking mid, outside back, and outside mid. My biggest strength as a soccer player is my focus on distributing the ball rather than forcing it up the field. I like playing on teams that primarily focus on possession and ball control.
I want to play soccer at an academically challenging school and am hoping to study Biochemistry with a minor in public health to pursue a career in Biochemistry or Epidemiology. I place a high value on my academics and currently have a 5.47 GPA. So far, I've taken three AP courses in total, scoring two 5s and a 4 on the tests. This year, I'm currently taking five AP courses. I also participate in and have leadership roles in several other extracurricular activities in addition to soccer, including varsity cross country, HOSA (future health professionals), science club, Women in STEM club, National German Honor Society, National Honor Society, and environmental club, and I lead a book club affiliated with my school's library.
