I think my parents greatly influenced who I am. My mother is from Romania, and she came here when she was 30, speaking no English, and yet she was able to be a valedictorian, and get a masters degree with a 4.0 GPA. I take after her greatly, I am driven to do my best in school, and continue to get A's. That's why I want to an amazing education, and also get scholarships based on academics. My dad is where my athletic sides comes from. He did track and football in high school, and managed to play college football for the University of Utah. Ever since he passed away when I was 10, I wanted to make him proud, and be a great athlete just like he was.
I love playing soccer, because it developed me into a well-rounded person. It shows me how to manage my time, to take care of body, connect me with different people, and to be driven. Being a part of a team, and the sport is something that goes beyond yourself. You are connected with parts of the country, you get to travel, and you get to make a mark. Soccer gives me the confidence on the field, and off the field, because you feel valuable, and proud of an ability you possess that not everyone does.
I aspire to go into the biomedical science field, so I can make a mark by helping people too. I also have exceptional writing skills, not solely essays, but more into journalism and poetry. I also love learning about culture and religion, I am learning Romanian, and I am highly proficient in French. I would like to thank you for your time to read the statement, and getting to know more about me!
