Personal Statement

My dream is to play soccer in college. I am looking for a school to best accommodate me athletically and academically. I’m a goalkeeper with a strong work ethic and a positive attitude. One of my best attributes as a goalkeeper is playing aggressively. I lead my team on the field and strive for excellence in my studies. I believe these qualities make me a good fit for any collegiate soccer program.

We ended up losing 1-0 against a very good NVA ECNL 09 team. They scored off a corner into the top bin near side post within the first few minutes but we were able to hold them off the rest of the match. We tied Fairfax Union ECNL 09 0-0. I was able to hold them off the entire game with a clean sheet. I even had a penalty called against me in the box for a PK but luckily I was able to save it. We ended the weekend with a tough loss 2-0 against the Richmond Strikers ECNL RL. Another very good club and team.

I was coached by head coach Peter Krech, head women's coach at St. Mary's College of Maryland, assistant coach Alex Mendolia, head women's coach of College of Staten Island, as well as goalkeeper coach John Gregg of Elite Soccer Academy PDA. Both Peter and John went on to coach the 2009 Girls ODP National team which included several field players from this team as well as the other goalkeeper from this team.

The new WVSA director of coaching Peter McGahey, former division 1 and 2 head and assistant coach, national instructor and scout for the United States Soccer Federation and former ODP national team boys coach, was also involved in the WV ODP program helping teams prepare for this tournament.

My head coach for the 2009 team was David Boloz, assistant women's coach for Boston University.

Under the guidance of Shepherd University women's soccer team assistant coach Anthony Tirri, I've been able to receive excellent goalkeeper specific training which prepared me for regular season and tournament competition as well as ODP East Region 1 level play for the Inter-Regional tournament hosted in Championsgate, FL both in 2021 and 2022.
